A Joy Filled Personal Portrait Session (Plus Puppy) in Saratoga Springs, NY
Updated: Jan 15

S and I met in Saratoga Springs for a socially distanced photo shoot last week. Thunderstorms were in the forecast, but there was a chance they would pass quickly. Plus, I love cloudy weather for photo shoots! After texting back and forth all day debating whether we should meet or reschedule, we decided to go ahead with the plan.
We met in Congress Park a few hours ahead of sunset. As we walked around to find a good location to begin, I asked her several questions. The most important question was "So, how do you want these pictures to make you feel?". Her simple and powerful answer was "Joy". And what an easy task that was because working with S was certainly joyful! She and her pup Puccini were so sweet and I loved capturing them both. For me, taking pictures is all about documenting your emotions and reactions. My end goal is to provide the viewer with the ability to feel the truth of a moment as it radiates out of an image. I think we did a pretty good job finding joy. Even Puccini was smiling!
